street PHOTOGRAPHY
Urban placement, the effects of time, rips and graffiti break down intended visual messages of advertisements. As a copywriter, I am part of creating those messages. As a photographer, I document their lifespan, how advertisements live in the world, mainly in underground transport systems and on the streets.
Below are photographs from Advert Existentialism, an edition of 200 images organized into eight themes in Existentialist philosophy such as Freedom, The Absurd, and Angst. My Instagram feed below continues the work, influenced by American photographers Walker Evens (1903-1975) and Aaron Siskind (1903-1991), French artist Jacques Villeglé (1926-2022) and Italian artist Mimmo Rotella (1918-2006).
